Rewilder worked with Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Robert Woods to upcycle obsolete jerseys, give them new life and minimize the environmental impact. Our R+D lab made a series of design prototypes, from jackets to footballs, to explore the many possible outcomes, all instead of landfill. Check out some of our process in this video, where Robert visits Stephanie Choi & Jennifer Silbert at our design lab, to learn the definition of upcycling and how to repurpose his old No. 17 jersey.
- Material R+D
- Product Design + Prototyping
Robert Woods is committed to putting his old jerseys to good use. This allowed us to explore many options for upcycling, from zero-waste jackets to furniture pieces. As with all upcycling projects, this one started with a series of material experiments.
"Upcycling means creative reuse. In upcycling, you don't have to destroy the material before you turn it into something else."
