Rewilder is the ideal partner to disrupt your waste stream and add value to your waste materials, with data to back it up. We have worked with companies big and small to divert waste into valuable product that extends the life of the material and leverages all the best properties from its first life – durable, lightweight, easy to clean, graphic. Good design and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. Let us help you get started.
DESIGN We are dedicated to high-quality design, and solve problems using design thinking. This includes the capability to take materials and rework them, adding back value.
SOCIAL JUSTICE Across the US from California to New York, the pattern of situating hazardous waste facilities like landfills and incinerators near marginalized communities is visible, and normalized. Keeping waste out of landfill has a direct connection to human health.
ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE The impact of upcycling is undeniable: for every ton of cotton-t shirts reused and kept out of landfill, 13.2 tons of CO2 are saved, compared to less than 1 ton saved by recycling the same quantity. Extending the life of textiles by an extra 9 months of active use will reduce carbon, waste, and water footprints by around 20-30% each of an item. Together, we are working toward eliminating waste from the production process.
WOMEN LED Rewilder is founded and run by three innovative women. Our workforce of skilled craftspeople includes a majority of women.
COMMUNITY BUILDING We’re making this locally and ethically in LA, paying livable wages. This project brings money back into the community in the form of jobs and skilled labor.
Our years-long partnership with the Hollywood Bowl is a seminal example of thoughful, purpose-driven work, as the organization embraced their role as leaders in sustainability as well as music. This optimistic project has a place in the hearts of Los Angelinos, who came back year after year for the unique zero-waste tote.
