About The Project:This summer, the Hollywood Bowl has partnered with Rewilder to create a one-of-a-kind tote bag made from Hollywood Bowl street-pole banners. Beautifully handcrafted here in L.A., the tote bag is carbon negative, vegan, and makes use of material that would otherwise end up in a landfill. What We Did: We used 1800 banners over 3 seasons to create 10,000 totes which diverted 5400 lbs of plastic from landfills. Why You Should Care: The material used to make a single RewilderXHollywood Bowl Summer Tote eliminates near 300 lb.s of CO2. The 5,400 lbs of plastic diverted from the landfill equate to enough energy to power 40 shows at the Hollywood Bowl. 1 totes saves enough CO2 emissions to drive 326 miles in a passenger car. Jenny Silbert: “We’re cutting each banner into pieces so each individual tote is its own thing, they’re all unique. The graphics, the colors, it’s very iconic Hollywood Bowl. So it feels like you’re carrying a piece of the bowl when you take one of the bags with you.”
